Wild contrast OOTD

Although these pictures don't do this outfit much justice I'm just so proud of this fashion find that I had to blog it. Especially when next to this lovely selection of wild flowers making a stunning contrast!

Two pieces are really big this season, with woolen skirts and matching jumpers set to storm AW14, so when I bought this box cut gingham top in the Newlook sale and realised it came with a wrap skirt counter part I made it my mission to complete the set, as as you can see above after multiple sale raids I found said skirt and walked out the store with a very smug look (plus another great sale dress under my arm).

Although the set is one size too big on both skirt and top counterpart, but due to the elastication of the material I think I can just about get away with it don't you think?

What's your best fashion find from this season?

Hawes and Curtis Fashion Shirts* I 3 Ways to Wear

When Hawes and Curtis contacted me for a blog review of their new fashion shirts, I was slightly skeptical as to whether there would be anything in their collection that that would suit me, let alone fit with my taste and style. Due to their well-known industry status being firmly in the suits and business shirt attire I wasn't sure if I'd find much.

But I couldn't be more wrong with their latest small but adequate range of fashion shirts to choose from and all extremely high quality material and finish compared to the more major high-street chains selling the same product.

Heres a short YouTube video of how I chose to wear my Hawes & Curtis polka dot shirt*!

Pretty Please OOTD

A few weekends ago I took a day trip down with my boyfriend to the sunny seaside of kent to visit my grandparents and family on their mini annual holiday away.

We went down to the tranquil St.Margrets bay which looks like something out of a Jack Penate music video. I decided to wear my new graphic crop top for the day and make the most of the sunshine. I put the top with my black skater skirt worn high waisted with a gold studded headband, gold and white flip-flops and tortoise shell gold studded sunglasses.

Naturally after a spot of icecream and a natter we then headed to a local pub for a sunday roast!

What summer hotspots have you been to this summer?

Natural Collection Shine Away Foundation Review I Makeup on a budget

I've been meaning to do a review on this product for a while, and since this was the brand that helped me delve into the world of foundation I thought it'd be a great product to do a budget makeup review on, as there just aren't enough truly budget makeup reviews out there.

Although this product is budget I think it's great for essential day wear when you don't need very much coverage. As you can see from my before and after photo above it doesn't provide an astonishingly different look like an Estée Lauder double wear, but it does cover and provide its 'shine away' claim. Plus for its price at £1.99 it's hard not to try it out.

There are a few major flaws with it though, one being that it doesn't match skin tone very well. I'm quite a fair skined person so I went with my normal 'porcelain' choice, I tried the product on the back of my hand which came out fine but in some lights I feel you can see the line of where I begin and the makeup ends, even after vigorous strokes to eliminate this. Plus I find every now and again I'll get a 'caking' effect where the foundation dries at a quicker rate to that of me applying it and ends up bunching together and flaking off which is really annoying. But I think because my skin is SO dry if it isn't moist to start with it creates havoc using this product, so I think I'm going to start taking to mixing a bit of moisturiser in with the foundation from now on.

If you're thinking of buying this product, overall its great for a girl on a serious budget or just starting to use and learn how to wear makeup, but this is strictly NOT for professionals.

I give this product 3 shells out of 5

***UPDATE***
When mixing moisturiser with this product it works perfectly and provides a non-cakey coverage.

British Summer Time OOTD I Festival Outfit Idea

I've been a little off the radar with the blogasphere lately for family reasons but I'm ready, prepared  and coming back with a bang with a whole host of new outfit posts, hauls and exciting collaboration posts still to come!

Anyway I just wanted to give a quick update on my duo polka dot getup from this years BST festival for a festival outfit idea for those festivals that're still yet to come. Here I've put a polka dot crop top underneath my light blue denim pinafore style dress with lace finished cycling shorts underneath (just so a gust of wind plus dress scenario didn't occur!). I then wore a cute pair of crochet socks and my trusty polka dot Henry Holland creepers and black crocodile effect rucksack for that little added edge and texture. I was going to team this look with a hat but decided that the rain/wind would possibly sweep it away so instead I amped up the jewellery, with my Marc Jacobs Daisy hard perfume necklace, Fossil watch, Thomas Sabo charms bracelet and midi rings, all silver, gold and white to match the look.

I had such a great day at the festival which was only a small day event in Hyde Park but it was such a perfect opportunity to get the best out of my festival wear!
