Bright Limes OOTD and Holiday Snaps!

Just wanted to post a little update here of all the snaps I took on my first girls holiday out in Bulgaria. I had an amazing time and a good break off from the hectic life schedule, but unfortunately suffered a few little mishaps along the way including as nasty knock to the face whilst swimming to the edge of a pool (which you can probably just about see in this OOTD). So for that reason I am going to let it heal before doing any further videos or outfit posts just because its not particularly the nicest thing to look at! (but I do have a collaborative post and a few other bits and pieces lined up!)

But in the meantime I will be giving you the latest in my beauty reviews and hopefully these holiday snaps and quick OOTD from my holiday will make up for the lost of outfits! Here I am wearing a lime v-neck a-line dress with lime Birkenstocks finished off with my Marc Jacobs Daisy necklace and black aztec detailed drawstring bag for an evening out at the circus!

Enjoy!

'The Yule Monty' Soap and Glory Review - Part 2

Welcome to part 2 of my 'Yule Monty' S&G review! This part discusses the rest of the creams and the makeup available in the collection.

Hand Food Hydrating  - Hand Cream
Another product with the classic S&G smell, this product takes pride of place in my handbag on a daily basis. With its hydrating claims this hand cream does exactly what it says on the bottle, although not really that quick to soak in which I find annoying when I'm out and about, but its still nourishing, soft and smells delicious!

Heels Genius  - Foot Cream
Now this is a weary product for me. I don't find the idea of covering your feet in fruity cream and then putting socks on over the top at all appealing. It's brings on a similar grimaced tooth clenched face to when an over dishwashed glass slips between my finger tips (just thinking about it now is making me squirm!). Although I'm painting the concept of the product with a negatively tainted brush, the result was my feet were super soft and subtle!.. but its no miracle cure for hard skin, but what product is!

The Righteous Butter - Body Butter
This body butter is basically an extension of the 'Butter Yourself' moisture lotion mentioned in this last review. As the product before was light and more of a daily quick fix moisturiser, this is at least 6 times the thickness. With that signature marshmallow scent wafting the airwaves again, this product is perfect for that weekend pamper post 'Sugar Crush' bath time of course!

Sexy Mother Pucker Extreme Plump - Lipgloss
The only way to best describe this product is with the word; PAIN. I don't really have many negative comments to make about this 'Yule Monty' set but for me this is its only really snag. This is one of those products that has a bit of a marmite effect, so I would take this with a pinch of salt if you like this type of product. Luckily nature blessed me with an adequate lip pout size so I don't feel the need to plump them, and I can understand the appeal of this for someone who's lacking collagen, but this products takes it to a whole new level. The fact that the packaging doesn't make it's 'extreme plump' selling point obvious enough, I at first thought this was just a subtle pink gloss. Lapping it on my lips I went into that motion of deep heat sensation moving onto a cat scratch feeling followed by a full on fire, and to be honest the result wasn't worth the pain.

Thick and Fast - Mascara
This product is perfect for my type of eyelashes, again blessed with long natural lashes I never really look for a lengthening product, but I'm always in dire need for a thickening product so this was well suited for me to try out! The product creates longer and thicker lashes but again, nothing to write home about. I also find it difficult to apply product to my smaller outer lashes with this brush as its SO big. So if you have quite large lashes and just want to thicken them up that little bit, this product is for you, but trust me when I say this won't create miracles.

I hope this 2 part review was useful! You can read the first half here!

'The Yule Monty' Soap and Glory Review - Part 1

My company last year generously gave out gifts to all staff, with all the girls receiving Soap and Glory's biggest Christmas gift bag 'The Yule Monty', due to the sheer amount of products in the bag its taken me a while to go through and use to each to make sure I can give an honest review.. so it may be june and this may be old, but considering these products are still on the market.. heres part 1 of my review!

I'm going to start off with all the cleaning based products, first with this scrub. I've already bought this product once before and loved it, but this version had a new foaming action so I was excited to see what this would be like. With most scrubs I find them not as powerful at getting into every nook and cranny and find them just a blandly beaded face wash with no power. This S&G formula is thick with beads and really scrubs away dead skin and helps regenerate with S&G's sweet signature marshmallowy scent, but also with this new foaming formula it has the added after effects of a face wash so its perfect as an all over scrub.

Another product to have a scent makeover was this also new cleanser I had never seen before adorned with peach and goji berry extracts and Quillaja Bark a natural cleansing agent, all to reenergise, fight aging and effectively remove any makeup. I never usually use cleansers as I usually find them quite slimy, unpleasant and make me feel un-clean so to try this product was a new experience for me. The product was light and highly moisturising and removed every inch of makeup which was impressive, all with a light and refreshing tingle after scrubbing so I am a convert to cleansers and find this product also great for a makeup day off so my skin can regenerate and feel super clean. The only fault I would say is with this product is that it states peach and goji berry extracts which I only really got a hint of when really trying to find the scent so this product is really subtle, which for me was a little disappointing.

This a product I haven't seen before by S&G so I was quite excited to use this product, on top of the fact it was different to the usual marshmallowy scent S&G users are accustom to, this product was a mixed scent of lime, lemon, vanilla musk and coconut oil with radiance and moisture boosting properties AND on top of being a body wash it also doubles up as a bath suds so its twice as flexible. The silky and not too thick formula goes on as a sweet lime scent and froths up really well so you don't need much product to get going, once the product turns to suds the scent slowly turns to a 'wish it could be' edible ice-cream scent and overall provides needed moisture for all those slightly drier patches. I cannot comment on the 'radiance' qualities it provides as my skin is quite dry and never really responds to those type of treatments but with everything else it does exactly what it says on the bottle!

Butter Yourself - Moisture Lotion
This product again like the whole package of S&G products has a very sweet smell.. but this time not of marshmallow but of orange, almond, mango and fig. To be honest I could really just smell almond and a tinge of fig I think,.. I would've liked a bit more of a fruitiness to come through but unfortunately it didn't . The lotion itself was nourishing (and with my skin being very dry I am a good test patient for this kind of product), but not outstandingly regenerating like a classic astral product would be, but there's a thicker butter in the range so I didn't expect this product to be all singing all dancing as its more a quick daily product.

In part 2 I will be covering the other 5 products in this set containing 3 creams and 2 pieces from the new makeup range! Stay tuned..

Brighton Brights OOTD

For a little trip out in the very rare amount of sunshine we accumulate in the UK, me and my boyfriend decided to take a trip down to the nearest seaside to London; Brighton. Call us crazy to go there via a car on saturday afternoon as the traffic and parking was horrendous but we eventually got a spot so we could enjoy the sun.

I thought this post name was quite appropriate as the latest items of clothing I have purchased for summer are full of bright neons! Here I wore a casual black bodycon dress, leggings and flip flops with my floral neon pink, green and orange tee over the top with my neon pink sunglasses.

Down at the beach we enjoyed a bite to eat and just a little walk around (and a cheeky beach snooze) in the sunshine!

What are your favourite clothing items for summer?

Michelle

What I wore
Flip flops - Converse

Black leggings - Topshop
Black boobtube dress - American Apparel
Neon floral t-shirt - Newlook

Revlon Parfumerie Scented Polish Collection

Im a fan of the Revlon polishes and if you read my blog often you'll know how much I go on about them and compare other polishes to them, but when I saw Revlon had a new re-designed collection of bottles, colours and had breathed a whole new life into the idea of scented polishes and moving away from the normal been there done that sugar scents, I had to have them.

From pinkey orange summer bright sweet scented 'Ginger Melon' to deep shimmery dark brown Christmas scented 'Autumn Spice', Revlon have concentrated on creating all year round twisted scents so there's something for everyone.
I bought two summery colours with the pinky orange 'Ginger Melon' and jade green coloured 'Lime Basil'.

'Ginger Melon' has been my current love, with neon orangey-reds currently in this SS14 with the scent also a perfect accompaniment to the season, it also takes me well away from my usual pink and red hues. The scent is super sweet and Melony but I wouldn't say ginger comes across just more so in the shade, the polish itself is quick drying and of high quality like all Revlon polishes.

The 'Lime Basil' polish is quite Limey in scent and with no hint of basil so I'm guessing again this is just meant to relate to the shade? The Lime to be honest is not great for me as its quite overpowering and reminds me of cleaning products.. But if you love lime I'm sure it'll be your favourite. The colour again bodes well to SS14 and is also quick drying and high quality like 'Ginger Melon'.

What's your favourite polish this season?

Michelle
