Tie-dye denim picnic OOTD

With festivals nearing sight I feel the denim and tie-dye will only be a cloudless sky away until its absolutely everywhere again, so in light of summer closing in and another of my marrakech items not getting any sunlight I felt it was time to bring out my rose tie-dye effect top and short denim jacket for a small (slightly chilly) picnic.

This semi-boho themed outfit was accessorised off with another current favourite of mine my Air symbol necklace, go-to gold studded pumps (which if anyone knows where to buy these as they've been discontinued by Topshop I would love to know), orange sunnies, pink rose, pink love heart and orange cameo rings.

What will your go-to summer pieces be this year?

Light denim short jacket - Topshop
Studded pumps - Topshop

Autumnal summer OOTD

Everyone's aware of my love for my chanel scarf these days so I decided when featuring it in this post I'd go routing through my wardrobe for something to go with its brown and cream tones and came out with a more autumnal themed outfit, a bit out of place for the very quick beginning to this years summer months.

Here I've got one of my oldest and favourite pieces on, a rust coloured tunic dress which is part jersey and part covered with this ditsy floral netting, its starting to have seen better days but I'm refusing to get rid of it! I've then gone very animal with some of my jewellery choices wearing my long line lion head knocker necklace, silver bunny ring and then kept the orange and gold theme in the outfit with my cameo ring and trusty studded slippers.

With the weather starting to get hotter, brighter and sunnier.. maybe I need to leave the last fashion season behind? What do we think?

What I wore
Chanel style scarf - Market in Marrakech

Rust netting tunic dress - Topshop
Lion head knocker necklace - H&M
Gold studded slipper - Topshop
Bunny ring - Newlook
Cameo ring - Vintage

Barry M Gelly High Shine Review

There's been a hive of excitement surrounding the 'Gelly Hi-Shine' polishes and when searching for a new sky blue polish, I thought I'd jump on the bandwagon and do a little review on the polish quality, its last and whether it really is a constant hi-shine product.

This polish when applying was quick drying which is good for a busy lifestyle but I found that I had to give the polish a good shake now and again whilst applying the second coat, the quality and colour of the polish is high and non patchy and over a weeks wear it was pretty chip resistant with only a few small chips and edges of nail just starting to wear.

As for the 'Hi-Shine' effect, the only way to describe this would be that the nail looks like its still wet once dry so is super shiny. The top photo of this post shows a weeks worth of wear and as you can see although slightly faded overtime the high shine wet look nail lasts quite a distance.

Overall I would say this is a really good polish and for the slightly cheaper price of some other brands I can understand why there's been a lot of talk over this product

Powder Pastels OOTD

A couple of weeks ago, I met up with a good friend of mine wayne on a sleepy sunday afternoon to enjoy southbank and the sunshine.

As powder pastels make their way back in to our wardrobes once again, I decided to go out and buy a couple of new accessories to accompany my monochrome pieces, these included a pair of chambrey blue slipons and a lilac and grey ditsy snake print snood.

I absolutely love these pieces as they go with so much of my wardrobe, here I've put them with stripped leggings, my angle cut white t-shirt and a mix of silver and gold jewelry for a super casual sunday look! Also for a quick note on lipstick in this post I'm wearing one from the L'oreal Rouge Caresse collection which I also LOVE and will soon do a review on it!

What pastel pieces are you loving at the moment?

What I wore
Purple and grey snake print snood - Newlook

Stripped leggings - H&M
Angled white t-shirt - ASOS
Gold palm print ring - Gogo Philip Malibu 1992
Silver band rings - Vintage
Oval mood ring - Dixi shop
Cateye sunglassses - Vans

Polka Problems OOTD

I'm a real house of holland lover and these shoes haven't made an appearance in a while so matching multiple spot adorned pieces seemed like a good theme for this post.

Mixing prints is a really popular at the moment, especially with the two pieces kicking around which I think adds a much more original and quirky edge to an otherwise samey two piece outfit, which is probably why I love it so much.

I teamed this tiny polka print vintage shirt with my large spot henry holland designed flatforms with a mix of silver, gold and white accessories to add little extra bits of pattern and texture. I personally love my air symbol necklace (the symbol of my horoscope), which was another item I completely forgot I bought on a whim quite a while back, but it works so well under shirts that I reckon it'll make many appearances to come.

What I wore
Ditsy spot shirt - Vintage
Large spot print flatforms - Henry Holland for Superga
Red wax coat - Barbour
Crystal digital watch - Phosphor
Fools gold effect silver ring - Republic (now USC)
Air symbol necklace - Matalan

Ciate Corrupted Neons Manicure

For my bestfriends birthday (and subsequently for myself) I decided to buy my first Ciate polish set and also first UV polish set, I'd heard so much good stuff about Ciate polishes that it was about time I'd tried them.

Taking my experience from a Revlon stance (for me they are THE best in high street polish quality) my expectations were high. The product came in a original duo imaged hologram packaging showing how the polish works alongside easy to use instuctions; double coat of colour, sprinkle of glitter and black light top coat to finish.

The polish went on like a dream, no streaking, quick drying and really good coverage. The glitter top coat of which I applied my signature style and added to my two index fingers was fine and covered well but was hard to apply. The top coat which I can only imagine creates the neon effect (making me think this can be used with any other polish?) went on well and dried super fast. The polish had run every test so far and passed with flying colours, but what about UV? I went on a night out (obviously just to test the polish..) to investigate..

When it hit a black light it was SO bright it practically could've run a club single handed (pun intended), although one part of my nail was not completed covered at the tip so it wasn't glowing, but that was more my 'lack of time to get ready' fault. So if you buy this polish just don't be slap-dash.

Overall this is everything you want in a mani set and the perfect gift for any best mate, so I'll be buying more Ciate in the future, just watch the £18 price tag as it may dent your purse.. unless you're spoiling yourself that is!

Polish I used:
Corrupted Neons Manicure set in blue by Ciate - featuring;
"Boom Box" sea blue "Foam Party" multi-neon 'mermaid tail' glitter and "Black Light" top coat clear polish
