Gogo Philip - Malibu 1992 Release*

The nice folk down at Material PR invited me to Gogo Philips store in the heart of London's vintage capital Brick Lane last weekend for the launch of Gogo Philip's new collection Malibu 1992 and also to enjoy some courtesy beverages and food and to watch rap artist Brooke Candy.

I'd already looked up the collection online so already had an idea of what vibe to expect and with 90's still reigning high in the fashion world this summer Gogo really delved into this as any good fashion firm would.

Like all Gogo's work the collection stood firm and bold all in gold taking inspiration from the aztec trend with a hard hitting street edge. There were some ditsy gold necklaces featuring tourist snowglobe favourites Italy's leaning tower of pisa, Venice's famous gondalas and Romes colosseum, other than these small highlights the main bulk of the jewellery followed a chunky link palm tree and all round loud beach holiday/marine theme and definitely not for the fashion faint hearted.

Once I'd looked round and trialed the beer which was also super cool and alternative with my italian themed 2 of hearts card, I nabbed myself the Malibu 1992 palmtree motif ring which I think will be one of the top sell out pieces.

All in all if you like the 90's trend and to stand out from the crowd this is an endless source for your wardrobe this summer.

Last weekend was a chilled out affair travelling down to a pretty place near Milton Keynes with my boyfriend to visit his parents, in which I packed to dress practically and appropriately for the countryside occasion ahead (not).

Starting the weekend with one of the only real tasks of the day a spot of 'walkies', in which I wore a thin monochrome striped t-shirt, skater skirt and leggings completing the look with my new pink and white scarf which I mentioned in my last post, not the most discreet of outfits for the surroundings.. and although I didn't get a picture of the outfit I did cover the issue well with my red Barbour coat and a pair of wellies.

From one problematic outfit to the next, Sunday saw another dishing out of walkies and the return of my baroque print skater dress in bright blue complete with chrerubs (what was I thinking?) but was again swiftly recovered with my faithful red Barbour before walking off into the greenery.

Although overall there was a major outfit crisis through the weekend, in the afternoon we took a visit to a familiar and more inner city-esk surrounding where I let it all hang out (outfit-wise).

We had afternoon cream tea at a local tea room followed by an impromptu visit to an antique shop hosted in a huge cellar where I was in heaven!

The cellar was complete with beautiful vintage bags (a particular achilles heel of mine), vintage clothing, kitchenware (note the super cute raspberry glassware), vintage rings, jewellery, retro typography and packaging you would only see in a designers dreams, and cute pictures I particularly liked made up of handmade pressed flowers.

Once country frolicking was over it was back to London for the working week ahead.

Upon reflection of the weekend I do wonder.. Whether my retro interests are somehow keeping me in the past,.. or whether its fine to have deep burning desires to entirely fill your house with stuff from this cellar alone?.. You tell me...

What I wore:

Beadnell wax red coat: Barbour
White and pink pearl, lace and skull print scarf: Topshop
Bright blue Baroque print dress: Romwe
Studded cigarette slippers: Topshop

Welcome home!

Stretching from Easter weekend all the way up to the present day is the length of time since myself and the readership of Blogspot have been well acquainted. It's been nearly a month and half since I decently updated my little section of the Internet with my many outfits, roamings and encounters so I thought it was time for a quick update.. I had planned to start the new sector of my blog over Easter (which I may still upload) but with my new commuting work life taking up most of my time.. It's taken a little back seat.

My Easter started out with a nice patch of ice skating (picture 1 & 2) with my other half at ally pally, a little obsessive past time we've had over the winter months which we carried into spring, followed by a long awaited meet up with a dear friend of mine who moved away to Hong Kong after university and finally made the leap across the pond to visit! (picture 3).

A week later came my meet up with another very good friend and fellow blogger Becky who I looked at pretty art materials with at the creative stitches and hobby crafts fair at the excel followed by a visit to the O2 for shakes (narrowly avoiding escalating amounts of one direction fans whilst there) using the Olympic cable car which I'd never been on before and was pretty terrifying... (picture 4, 5 & 6).

The last few weeks then followed with two new shopping items including this beautiful pair of jelly shoes which are slowly destroying my feet and a Topshop white and pink skull, lace and pearl print scarf to go fetching with my many magnitudes of monochrome, one strange obsession to carrot juice (don't ask), one romantic gesture.. and one long awaited sun spell to enjoy with my new sunnies! (picture 7 to 13)

Floral, studs and skates / skating partner / KARYUUUU!!! / Beckys Buttons / Travelling in style / Oreo shakes / Back to school / new scarf attire / old scarf attire / morning carrots / evening carrots / a single blue rose / new sunnies <3

So now were all up to date.. Lets get back to being a proper blogger ey?
